Characterizing Pathogenic Protein Aggregates for Utilization as Molecular Tools to Accelerate Neurodegenerative Disease Research

Webinar: Accelerating Neurodegenerative Disease Research with Pathogenic Protein Aggregates

Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases are the most common neurodegenerative disorders. Both are characterized by the presence of plaques in the brain – these consist of protein aggregates which include the key proteins α-synuclein, tau, and amyloid beta (Aβ).

Dr. Jacob McPhail is an R&D Scientist for StressMarq Biosciences. In this ~30 minute talk (initially presentated at Labroots Neuroscience 2021 virtual event), Dr. McPhail discusses the shared common pathological mechanism of α-synuclein, Tau, and Aβ, and how these protein aggregates can be used as research tools in disease models and drug discovery.
